Integrity Quotes and a Verse...

Integrity Quotes and a Verse

"So I strive always to keep my conscience clear
before God and man."
- Acts 24:16

"Your life may be the only Bible some
people read."
- Author Unknown

"Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face
the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These
are the magic keys to living your life with integrity."
- W. Clement Stone

"If humanity does not opt for integrity we are
through completely. It is absolutely touch and go.
Each one of us could make the difference."
- Buckminster Fuller

"A reputation of a thousand years may be
determined by the conduct of one hour."
- A Japanese Proverb

"Wisdom is knowing what to do next;
virtue is doing it."
- David Star Jordan,
'The Philosophy of Despair'

"I never had a policy; I have just tried to do
my very best each and every day."
- Abraham Lincoln

"There is no pillow so soft as a clear conscience."
- A French Proverb

"Trials, temptations, disappointments - all these are helps
instead of hindrances, if one uses them rightly. They
not only test the fiber of a character, but strengthen
it. Every conquered temptation represents a new fund
of moral energy. Every trial endured and weathered
in the right spirit makes a soul nobler and stronger
than it was before."
- James Buckham

"Laws control the lesser man.
Right conduct controls the greater one."
- A Chinese Proverb

"Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none."
- William Shakespeare

"I hate mankind, for I think myself one of
the best of them, and I know how bad I am."
- Joseph Baretti (commonly mis-attributed
to Samuel Johnson)

  1. Great quotes Val. Hard to choose a favorite but I like the one about your life may be the only Bible people read.

  2. Val, these are absolutely beautiful. I agree with DB. I can't pick a favorite either, but I also was drawn to -- your life may be the only Bible people may ever read.

I also put one on Twitter recently. It was something like this: "If someone is mean to you, don't treat thm poorly afterward. Not so much bc they deserve it, but bc you always want to do what is right." To me that is real integrity! You want to love the person, and to love God, but you also want to have self respect, and by not letting the person get to you -- by showing them respect in that sense -- you are giving yourself respect at the same time, and being the better person. Or at least not dragging yourself down or feeling bad and harboring resentment, bitterness, and unforgiveness. Unforgiveness is just as bad for the person who needs to forgive as the person who needs the forgiveness! Hope that makes sense! Love you!
