Christmas Quotes

"What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the

It is the fervent wish that every cup may overflow

every path may lead to peace."

  1. I don't know if this is my all time favorite quote, but I did find it online:

In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it 'Christmas' and went to church; the Jews called it 'Hanukkah' and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say 'Merry Christmas!' or 'Happy Hanukkah!' or (to the atheists) 'Look out for the wall!' ~Dave Barry, "Christmas Shopping: A Survivor's Guide"

Okay, Sissy, I am off to find you a more serious one, LOL!

  2. Okay, Valerie, Here you go. I think you'll like this one much better, LOL:

"Christmas gift suggestions: To your enemy, forgiveness. To an opponent, tolerance. To a friend, your heart. To a customer, service. To all, charity. To every child, a good example. To yourself, respect."
    ~ Oren Arnold

    And finally one more:

"The perfect Christmas tree? All Christmas trees are perfect!"
~ Charles N. Barnard, American author, travel writer.

  4. Okay, I said I was done, Sissy, but this is the most important one of all! This is Linus from "A Charlie Brown Christmas"

Linus Van Pelt: "And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.'"

[Linus picks up his blanket and walks back towards Charlie Brown]

Linus Van Pelt: That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

I hope you enjoyed my comment, Valerie and everyone! Linus was quoting Luke 2.8-14. Remember, glory to God in the Highest, He has come to earth as a Baby, as one of us, fully God yet at the same time fully Man, and He will grow up and one day die on a cross for us, to save us. He came to die for all mankind, if they only accept Him. That is the true meaning of Christmas. And sometimes it takes a child (Linus) to tell us the true meaning of Christmas. Please don't forget the true meaning of Christmas this year!

Jesus is the reason for the Season!
